About Me
I am not aligned with anybody. I just think we australians are hypocrites in that we say the japanese are wrong in hunting whales for traditional reasons . And yet we allow under the native title act we condone the indiscrimanate killing and torture of sea turtles and dugongs by our own indigenous australians. It is wrong and we all know it but will not do anything about it . Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text. Please try again. 12 Comments
Thanks Colin, I welcome the challenge of the campaign. Highly informative website and an effective platform for you and Bob to spread the word.
Thanks for the welcome Colin. I found this via the Live Animal Exports: Ban Forever! facebook page, and I am very glad I did. Isn't it amazing what you can find out via social networking, they can keep us in the dark no longer - Viva Le Facebook lol.
Collin I love the website great job
tell Bob Robbie from Swamp Brothers Says G-Day cheers and again Great site www.keszeybrothers.com www.gherp.com
I am sick of seeing QPWS boats return to their docks at Manly with Dugong carcasses. I'm sick of kayaking at my favourite holiday destination, Days Gutter, Moreton Island, and seeing dead turtles washed up on the shore and floating in the shallows.
It is us who need the animals, not the other way around....when will people realise! I am doing all the volunteering I can, which is more than my paid work, but would love to know how I can help more.
Great site Colin, love your interviews, and I agree, you certainly are making the issues very clear, that are standing in the way of these gorgeous animals futures. You know, us humans think we have it all figured....it is us who need these animals, not the other way around. Only a few that really get it, will make the difference.........but we are getting there. Cheers 2U Colin
I agree that the Japanese are wrong in killing whales and dolphins, and also shark finning is wrong. Australians need to band together and work with the indigenous people to explain to them that these turtles and dugongs feel pain and that they have a purpose in the eco system. If we have to take them back to the dreamtime and help them understand that these creatures have a purpose and it might be to their best interest to help preserve them.
No Problem! I will be glad to share the web site and see if ther are others who might join for this cause.
Danny O'Shane letter in the Cairns Post today of course threw in the accusation of rascism.
It doesn't matter who is inflicting cruelty to these animals, it just has to stop. The take is not sustainable,it falls well outside any alleged cultural respect for these animals and breaches customary lore. Compassion is apparently the human trait that separates us from other living beings. I see little compassion being exhibited towards turtles (marine or freshwater species) and dugongs. In 2010 this abuse cannot be justified. Thanks Colin for your vision
This is not how these peaceful creatures should be treated because they have not big brown eyes like a seal pup or baby whale.
